Voice lessons for all ages, from 6 to adult, are available at our music school. Our experienced voice mentors are here to help you, whether you are just starting to discover your vocal abilities or are an experienced performer preparing for an audition or performance.

Drum lessons for all ages, from 6 to adult, are available at our music school. Our skilled drum mentors specialize in rock, jazz, pop, and country. You’ll learn to read music, develop proper technique, and improve your rhythm on an acoustic drum kit. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced drummer, we have a program to help you reach your musical goals.

Violin, viola, and fiddle lessons for all ages, starting at 6 (or younger with teacher approval), are available at our music school. Our skilled strings mentors are proficient in styles from classical to country and are committed to helping you achieve your musical goals. You’ll learn the fundamentals, improve your ear training, and incorporate your favorite songs into your studies.

UKULELE lessons

Ages 6 through Adult

Ukulele lessons for all ages, from 6 to adult, are available at our music school. Our experienced mentors specialize in various styles and help students learn their favorite songs. Beginners focus on finger placement, chords, and music theory. Whatever your experience level or musical goals, we are here to help you succeed.

SONGWRITING lessons

Ages 10+

Songwriting lessons for all ages, from beginners to seasoned writers, are available at our music school. Our experienced mentors use proven techniques to guide students through the process of writing their own music and finding their unique voice and sound. These lessons help you explore your creativity and hone your craft.

music production lessons

Ages 10+

Music Production lessons for students ages 10 and up are available at our music school. Our experienced mentors train students of all skill levels in music production software such as Logic, Ableton, and Pro Tools. Lessons are tailored to fit each student’s unique production interests and goals within their chosen genres.

onstage band program

The ROOTS Academy OnStage Band program is designed to give young musicians the opportunity to experience music as a member of their very own band!

This semester-long, audition-only program is designed to allow students to explore music through community, creativity, and live performance.

We know making that first step in choosing your instrument is a tough one. Don’t let that stop you! We are committed to helping your student find the right fit. If you’re unhappy with your mentor or instrument, you can simply let us know and we’ll try a different option. We offer a one-time free trial lesson for all new students to try out your instrument of choice to ensure it’s a good fit. Every lesson and class is led by instructors that we purposely call “mentors.” We take the responsibility of training the next generation seriously. Each of our mentors is not only thoroughly background checked, trained, and empowered to develop the student’s gifts and talents, but also to build trusted and reliable connections. Absolutely. Making an instrument or mentor change is easy. Simply contact our office at (615) 804-1177 or music@rootsacademy.com and let them know what you’d like to do. They’ll be happy to talk you through your options.

If I miss a music lesson, can I make it up?2024-01-11T15:51:14-06:00

Absolutely! As long as we hear from you at least 24 hours before your scheduled lesson, you will receive a once-monthly make-up for your missed lessons.

Make-ups are not permitted for no-shows or multiple missed lessons per month.

How do I stop my music lessons?2023-06-28T17:41:48-05:00

We offer hassle-free withdrawals and/or temporary lesson holds. The only requirement is to submit your request to withdraw at least 30 days prior to the next billing cycle. Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing using this form. Withdrawals will be processed within three business days.

ROOTS Music uses Opus1.io to track all lesson scheduling, billing and progress notes. You will receive a link to login into your portal when you enroll. If you ever have trouble accessing your account, please email us at music@rootsacademy.com.

The current music lesson rates are $165 per month for 30-minute weekly lessons $245 per month for 45-minute weekly lessons $330 per month for 60-minute weekly lessons.

How do I claim the 30-day money back guarantee?2019-06-07T13:59:50-05:00

The money-back guarantee is based on the following requirements:

  • The student is required to attend four consecutive weeks of lessons/classes
  • Parent/student must notify the front office regarding their dissatisfaction by the third week, giving us an opportunity to improve your learning experience.
  • Refunds will be paid by check and delivered within 10-14 business days.
