INSTRUMENTS
about Allison
Allison Hatfield’s relationship with music began almost as soon as she could express herself. At just four years old, she wrote her first song — one that may not have made much sense, but brought real joy to her family! In that moment, Allison discovered something powerful: music could make people feel good. That realization has guided her ever since.
Singing came naturally to Allison from a young age, and when she began piano lessons at ten, she quickly fell in love with the instrument. Though music was always close to her heart, she hesitated to pursue it fully until a producer she met while performing in a musical encouraged her to believe in her potential. That moment helped her step more confidently into her creative path.
Growing up around the music industry also showed Allison both its beauty and its challenges. Learning to develop a healthy relationship with music became one of her greatest growth points. Those experiences deepened her songwriting and strengthened her desire to create music rooted in hope, healing, and authenticity.
Allison began teaching at nineteen after a family from her church asked her to give their daughters lessons. What started as a leap of faith quickly became a passion as she watched students discover confidence and joy through music.
At ROOTS Academy, Allison creates lessons that are as unique as her students. She believes everyone learns differently and strives to meet each student where they are. Beyond technique, she uses music to help students grow into confident and creative individuals.
Outside of ROOTS, Allison writes music, performs in various bands as well as solo, and enjoys exploring many forms of creative expression.
