Giavanna Lupo

About Giavanna

I began dancing at the age of two, and for over 20 years, I immersed myself in the world of movement, expression, and performance. From early childhood through adulthood, dance was my lifelong passion and purpose. I trained and competed intensively from ages 6 to 18 in a variety of styles including contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap, pom, and ballet each one shaping my technique, versatility, and love for the art. In high school, I was a dedicated member of my varsity pomline and proud to be part of a team that earned a state championship, an experience that deeply influenced my drive as both a performer and a teammate. That same competitive spirit and passion for excellence carried into my choreography work, where I had the opportunity to create multiple pieces for Arts Express Theatre in Arizona, blending movement with storytelling to create meaningful stage experiences.

Professionally, I performed for four seasons as a Tucson Sugar Skulls Cheerleader, where I brought high-energy entertainment to game day audiences and strengthened my performance presence in a professional setting. For four years, I served as the coach for both the Junior Varsity and Varsity Pomline at Salpointe Catholic High School. Working with those talented student-athletes was an incredibly rewarding chapter in my journey. Under my leadership, our teams performed regularly at football and basketball games, as well as at various school-sponsored events and appearances throughout the year. They also earned multiple first place and top placements at both state and national competitions, accomplishments that reflected not only their talent but also the heart and hard work they brought to the floor. Dance has always been the core of who I am.

Whether I was performing, choreographing, or coaching, I brought a deep sense of purpose, joy, and dedication to every space I entered. My goal was always to inspire, uplift, and help others find their voice through movement, just as I found mine.

At ROOTS, we are proud to have mentors who are actively engaged in the dance community. They're not just teachers; they're performers, choreographers, and artists who live and breathe dance. This unique perspective enriches your learning experience, providing insights that go beyond the studio.

In the heart of Music City's vibrant arts scene, ROOTS Academy mentors often balance roles as professional dancers and educators. While their occasional commitments with dance companies or performance tours may lead to mentor substitutions, we're dedicated to keeping you informed about any class changes.
