Mentor Mission Statement
about Isabelle
Izzy Ignatowski is a passionate and dedicated music mentor whose teaching blends strong theoretical knowledge with an enthusiastic love for music. Encouraged by her mother to try piano at the age of four, Izzy quickly developed a deep connection to music — singing even before she could speak.
A major turning point came when her family moved and her father discovered an arts high school in the area. Auditioning and attending the school transformed music from a hobby into a serious career goal. The intensive training she received there in both piano and voice helped her grow rapidly as a musician and gave her the confidence to pursue music professionally.
As a teacher, Izzy is known for her structured and theory-oriented approach. She sets clear goals and designs organized lessons that balance technical development with music that students genuinely enjoy. With experience in both solfege and traditional note-based systems, she adapts her teaching to fit each student’s learning style. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Izzy connects easily with a diverse range of students and strives to make lessons engaging and rewarding.
For Izzy, teaching is deeply personal. She values the moments when students overcome challenges, master new skills, or rediscover their excitement for music. Many long-term students continue to seek her guidance, reflecting the strong relationships she builds as both a teacher and mentor.
Beyond teaching, Izzy is an active songwriter and musician whose creativity also extends into freelance photography. She loves to travel, having visited almost every country in Europe, and is teaching herself how to play the guitar, ukelele, and the drum kit.
