about Allison

Allison Hatfield is a professional singer-songwriter and performer with a passion for passing on the skills and love for music to the next generation. Allison’s relationship with music began almost as soon as she could express herself. At just four years old, she wrote her first song—one that may not have made much sense, but brought genuine joy to her family. In that moment, Allison discovered something powerful: music could make people feel good. That realization has guided her ever since.

Singing came naturally to Allison from a very young age, and when she began piano lessons at ten, she fell in love with the instrument immediately. Though music was always close to her heart, she hesitated to pursue it full-time. That changed when she met a producer while performing in a musical—someone who believed in her potential before she fully believed in herself. That encouragement helped her step more confidently into her creative calling.

Allison’s musical voice has been shaped not just by inspiration, but by challenge. Growing up around the music industry, she saw both its beauty and its brokenness. Learning to carve her own, healthier relationship with music became one of her greatest growth points. Her trials ultimately became fuel—deepening her songwriting and giving her a strong sense of purpose rooted in hope, healing, and authenticity.

She began teaching at nineteen, initially hesitant, after a family at her church asked her to give their daughters lessons. What started as a leap of faith quickly became a passion. Allison found deep meaning in watching young minds light up as they discovered joy, courage, and confidence through music. Teaching became not just something she did, but something she felt called to do.

At ROOTS Academy, Allison is known for creating lessons that are as unique as the students themselves. She believes no two children learn the same way, and her approach centers on meeting each student where they are. Beyond notes and technique, she uses music to help students grow into brave, confident individuals—especially those who need encouragement most. One of her most meaningful moments came when a student shared that lessons were the best part of their week, reminding Allison just how impactful a safe, loving space can be.

Outside of ROOTS, Allison writes music regularly, performs with her duo project, explores acting and modeling, and enjoys all forms of creative expression—from sewing to painting. Wherever her own musical journey leads, her heart remains focused on connection, creativity, and using music to uplift others.
